My dear friend Emma and I went & got tattoos together in September of 2023 - here is what she wrote about the meaning behind

BOLDLY & GENTLY.

These two words were prayed over me when I went to Uganda in May 2022 & the Lord has used these words, which are attributes of Him, to grow me a lot. I used to think of these words as opposites so I had a hard time executing bold & gentle faith. I was either judgmental & arrogant, or I was passive & scared which caused me to miss opportunities to speak about Jesus. He’s reminded me over & over again that I am free to not care what the world says so I can step in the confidence that the Savior died to give me & tell of His wondrous works. I can choose to deny fear & walk boldly. And gentleness? Oh how gentle Jesus is. God isn’t a forceful Father; He is a kind Father and Friend who has the biggest heart for humanity—the biggest heart for you. If He is gentle & the Holy Spirit lives in me, then I can be gentle too. I seek to ask Him to remove the pride that’s in my heart & fill it with the patience, kindness, & compassion He embodies. Walking boldly & gently are difficult to accomplish in my own strength, & praise God I was never meant to do anything on my own. It is only by Him & through Him that I can live this way!
